“Is square carpet cut into square from carpets?”This question is always asked by the customers. Actually square carpet is square from it’s appearance, but we can’t tell a carpet as square carpet just because it’s cut in square from a carpet. Square carpet is different from ordinary carpets on using ares or functions, mostly from the backing material.

1. Square carpet are finished by precoating of EVA coating on semi finished carpet face, second latex coating, fiber glass layer and final latex backing.
2. There are PVC, bitumen and PU backings for square carpet.
PVC backing: It means coat the carpet backing with mixture of PVC, which is more shining, aging resistant, corrosion resisting, soft, resilient and anti-slip. But it causes harmful air when burning, anyway it’s the major backing used now.
Bitumen backing: It means the backing made from bitumen, which is coated by non woven fabrics. Bitumen backing is corrosion resisting, but can’t bear high temperature, it can slow down fire spread and ease the harm to the wood flooring, also it’s cheaper.

PU backing: It means coating the carpet back with a layer of high elasticity polyurethane and cut into pieces like 50cm*50cm or 1m*1m. Compared with the former two types, it has better resilience, softer foot feeling, anti noise, anti heat, and it’s more environmental, no harmful air will come after long time use. It can be recycled, it’s green carpet. But the production cost is higher, so goes the price, so it hasn’t been used widely.
