How to Install Carpet Tiles

People are always looking for ways to make everything easier.
There are so many things that have been created and invented, tweaked and modified just so they could fit in people’s lives. They have created things that are more efficient, more durable and more beautiful, and one of these things is the carpet tiles. What, you say, are carpet tiles?
Carpet tiles are easily square sections of carpet rolls.
By creating carpet tiles, people have made carpet placement easier in a non-square room. As you might already now, carpet rolls are messy and complicated to place. One needs to cut out some portions of it to be able to perfectly fit in a room.
Carpet tiles are uniform in size, which makes it a lot easier to estimate just how much a room would need.
Carpet tiles installation could be done in two ways, as they are two types of carpet tiles. The first one is a non-adhesive carpet tile, which would require the use of double-sided tapes. The second one is the adhesive carpet tile, which has protective sheets that could be peeled off to reveal the sticky adhesive back of the tile.

1. Measure. Know how many tiles would be needed. Carpet squares are generally 18in x 18in, but make sure that the company you’re about to buy from makes carpet tiles this size. Add some 10% to the overall number you need.
2. Clean the room. Remove everything on the floor of the room where you would install the carpet tiles – and yes, that includes old carpets.
3. Find the center. You might want to find the center of the room before you lay carpet tiles on it. Some have arrows on the back of the tiles; make them all face the same direction. You might also need a chalk to draft your carpet tiles placement. Stop when you lay the last full square.
4. After sticking in the last of the full squares, you now have to cut off excess for the smaller spaces left. You could start anywhere you like, but be sure to perfectly align them.
In carpet tiles installation, it is best to keep some carpet squares handy.
One of the best things about carpet tiles are they can easily be removed and replaced. Of course, there are sections inside a room where you do not usually step on, and these parts of the room are less prone to the wear and tear of the carpet squares. However, there are places you step on every single day, and these places might wear and tear faster. Re-installation is easier because you simply have to pull the square out and replace it with another.

Carpet tiles installation is easy, but looking for a carpet tile that looks exactly like the one you have installed over years ago isn’t. Even from the same company, the tiles may have somewhat varied in color and would look awkward with the rest of your carpet tiles, as they could change every year.
