Once you have frozen the gum, simply scrape it off with a cutter. Remember to be very careful when scraping so that you do not damage the carpet fibers. Candle wax is another potential carpet spoiler. If you spill candle wax on your wool carpet, simply place a cloth or a piece of blotting paper over the wax and iron over it on a low setting. Once the wax has liquefied you can easily pull it up with a damp cloth.
