Carpet pile length: deep or short?

Pile relates to the fibers in a floor carpet. A carpet is constructed by weaving these fibers in and out of the carpet backing which creates a series of loops. The loops are then cut to create a twist pile carpet, or left uncut to create a loop pile carpet. Cut and loop pile carpets use a combination. The thickness of a carpet’s pile determines the properties of that floor including its appearance, feel, durability and how easy it is to clean. There are two common pile lengths: deep and short.
